Shenyang Hunnan: A Modern Urban Exhibition Center

Tengyuan Design's Landmark Overlooking the Hunhe River

The design inspiration for Shenyang Hunnan comes from the superior landscape resources of the Hunhe River. Tengyuan Design breaks the traditional urban outline, drawing the beautiful scenery of the Hunhe River from the bottom to the top with beautiful curves. The design combines a modern, simple style, showing the multi-dimensional urban power. The planning form introduces the Hunhe River water, creating an architectural form that adopts a streamline.

Shenyang Hunnan is not just a sales center, but more of an urban exhibition hall. It brings a landmark river overlooking point to Hunnan while serving for the exhibition and enhancing the sense of experience. The modern design language brings a new spatial experience, enabling the exploration of the relationship between the sales center and the city in the future.

The facade of the building is made of aluminum plate, with partial gradual perforations. During the day, the snowflakes' shadow is scattered on the building. Large areas of glass are used around the building enclosure to achieve the mutual penetration of the internal and external space of the building without boundary. The project covers a total of 1400 square meters, providing a viewing platform at a height of 45 meters and four floors of micro viewing platforms from top to bottom.

The project started in October 25, 2019 in Shenyang and finished in November 12, 2019. It is located in the East Lake plot, Hunnan district, Shenyang city, between the east 2nd ring road and the east 3rd ring road. The architectural scheme combined with landscape tower and sales center, integrates modern simple design technique, introduces fashionable elements, and creates a new regional business card.

One of the design challenges was to highlight the main body of the building with modern design language, semi enclosed garden space, combined with waterscape, giving people a new visual experience. The viewing tower is raised by 45 meters to fully appreciate the beautiful scenery of the Hunhe River. The front court is a plaza facing the city, and the back court is open for the residential area. The arched space floating out of the ground forms the entrance and exit image of the whole building.

Shenyang Hunnan was awarded Golden in A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2020. The award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
